Experiments in Embossing

Embossing with stuff! This week I decided to create texture on the copper plate and became aquainted with this lovely mill! Oh, then I counter enameled the wrong side (oops), but I'm still learning! And on the plus side, the counter enamel is stunning and these plates will become increasingly experimental! #enamel #experimentalenamelling #contemporaryenamel #sifting #copperplate #embossing #creatingtexture #textureandcolor #amyhutchings #amyhutchingsprints #multidisciplinaryprintmaker #sgscollege

What a beautiful day today! Great to see the sunshine and feel it's heat - we even managed to have our dinner outside this evening. 😎🔆 Pretty sure there won't be many more of those! Here's a #tbt a sunny summer print of Bristol's Underfall Yard. I'm off to see the wonderful Helen @casper_bristol Tomorrow, so I'm pulling together a few Bristol-themed prints for her perusal. It's been nice to have a flick through what I generated over the SPS/UWE scholarship. What a super evening! Displayed across two rooms, the exhibition was inspirational and really varied. There was a great turn out and wonderful atmosphere. The show was beautifully hung and I am really proud to be part of it. Make sure you check it out, especially if you have any interest in scientific research. Met some great artists and scientists - Totally loved it! I'll be heading back at another point to properly take it in as there was just so much for stuff! Oh - and there is the awards evening coming up on 25th, which will be well worth checking out! Open Tuesday to Saturday 11-5, with late opening on Wednesdays and on for a month! . .

Eye Bulb and Inner Space at Visions of Science

I am thrilled to have found out yesterday that my two submissions - Eye Bulb and Inner Space - have been accepted and hung at the Andrew Brownsword Gallery, Bath, as part of this years Vision of Science exhibition. The exhibition opens Saturday 15th September, with a private view on Friday 14th. It will run until Saturday 13th October and celebrates the merge of science and art. The selected works reflect, represent, capture or depict modern day scientific phenomena, as studied by academics at the University of Bath. The Faculty of Science researches themes across biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematical sciences, pharmacy & pharmacology and physics. My pieces in the show focus on
