Thank You 2019 - You've Been Terrific

THANK YOU to everyone who came along to the fun, festive market @amba_arthub on Saturday! That was my last direct selling event of 2019 - I cannot believe that the year is almost done! We had a lovely day - great, gifted makers and artists, lovely customers and visitors, fuelled by delicious coffee and cake. I slept the following morning until gone 10 😲 - I must've needed it!

This has been a busy and varied year, full of so many exciting projects. I have had the pleasure of working with the Eye Hospital, transforming a dark waiting area into a vibrant, colourful space. This commission led to the wonderful, working relationship I now have with the National Eye Research Centre.

I've also had the pleasure of a residency at the Ashton Court mansion, capturing the current condition of the house and sharing my passion for the space via Sketch Up Friday sessions and working with primary schools from across the city. It was an honour to be part of the 60 year celebration of Bristol City Council's ownership of the mansion, working with students to reimagine it's future and create an exhibition of ideas.

My work with Anna Haydock-Wilson, regenerating the Cumberland piazza has been ongoing, with a community mural engaging over 60 members of the public. Local Hotwells residents shared their positive words about the area they call home, resulting in a giant mural entitled, "Hotwells Voices".

I have worked with many primary and secondary schools across the city, for which I am grateful. The students have been inspiring and creative - a fantastic new mural now adorns the wall of Creative Workspace in Withywood, thanks to an Arts Council funded project with Brave Bold Drama and Merchants Academy. There have also been the workshops with Artspace Lifespace and Historic England at Ashton Court Mansion and collaborations with scientists, resulting in artwork representing the work of a geneticist and teaching primary students about natural selection. I have participated in arts trails and markets, set up a proper online shop and met many, wonderful new people! There have been press interviews for BBC Radio Bristol, Bristol 24/7 and even a mention in the Guardian!

And now, the last thing for me to do in 2019 is sign off for Christmas! 🎄🎁💝 To each of you, thank you very much for your support and friendship this year. I've met some great people and made new friends over 2019 - Without you, I wouldn't be doing what I do and it wouldn't be anywhere near as much fun!
