I found out today that I have been featured in Bristol 247 with my favourite things about Bristol. Check out the article here: My Bristol Favourite Things, by Amy Hutchings or see below for content:
Artist Amy Hutchings is exhibiting her latest work at a collaborative exhibition, Print-Centric, at UWE Bristol’s Bower Ashton campus from July 14 to 31. The exhibition has come out of a scholarship between UWE and Spike Print Studio. Five professional scholars and five recent graduates were selected for the first SPS UWE Scholarship and for the last 12 months have been working on developing their practices, creating opportunities for cross-pollination of ideas and broadening creative networks. Here are Amy’s top-five Bristol favourites: The animal graveyard, Ashton Court “There is so much to do and see in Ashton Court, but the graves for the Smyth family pets have always intrigued me. They nestle near the mansion and used to sit under the dappled shade of a huge redwood.” Leigh Woods “Just beautiful. A great place to get away from everything, either on two feet, with furry friends or on bikes making the most of the trails, which is my favourite thing to do with family.” Sweetmart “Sweetmart on St Mark’s Road in Easton is a cornucopia of delights and a tantalising place to do a food shop.” The Pump Track “The pump track near the Brunel Way flyover is a great place to hang out on a weekend, squeeze in a bit of exercise and make new friends.” Hamilton House “Hamilton House on Stokes Croft is a melting pot of creativity: eclectic, diverse, buzzing and always something new to see. I love the gallery space and catching bands in the Canteen.”
