Post is done - Let's have Christmas Fun!

That's it! Last Christmas post is out and away and all that's left now is to wrap presents and find the sherry.

Many thanks to each and every one of you for all of your support over 2018! This year has been great - a proper journey. I have been able to enjoy wonderful opportunities and work with wonderful people, for which I feel very grateful.

The start of 2018 saw me enrolled on a professional scholarship with Spike Print Studio and the University of the West of England Multidisciplinary Print Department. I had such fun, working across various disciplines and learning totally new techniques - such as aquatint - and playing with enamels to further my print practice.

In April, I enjoyed my biggest accolade to date - being selected by Yinka Shonibare with his panel of judges for inclusion in the Shape Arts Open at the Pavillion, London. The exhibition was fantastic and a great platform to find my work exhibited. The show was impressive and addressed the concept of "Collective Influence", investigating the interwoven issues of art, disability and the power of collective voice. https://www.shapearts.org.uk/event/shape-open-2018

Whilst this show was on, I was working with the Bristol Eye Hospital, designing a mural for one of their key outpatient departments. The mural will show a city skyline, depicting many recognisable landmarks in the city. The installation of this mural will commence in January 2019.

Other highlights include working with the children from Hotwells Primary School to translate their designs onto a 22 metre long wall in the Cumberland Piazza. I have also had the pleasure of honouring some of the wonderful women of Hotwells and Cliftonwood, commissioned by Art within the Cracks, which has forged new connections and resulted in new friends. This was to mark and celebrate the centenary of (some) women getting the vote.

I have had the fun of being involved in a number of group shows, including two with the talented artists from the UWE/ SPS Scholarship, Creative Reactions and Visions of Science at the Andrew Brownsword Gallery.

And finally, I was included in the selection of talented artists and makers with Bristol Girl Bosses and the Bristol Etsy Team in the wonderful Winter Pop Up Shop. It's been a super 2018 and 2019 kicks off with lots of excitement - I'll be straight into a residency at Ashton Court mansion and I'll also be painting that lovely mural for the Friends of Bristol Eye Hospital. On that note - thank you once again for being part of my journey. I wish you all the very best of Christmases and a stunningly super 2019!!!Love Amy xxx
