A Busy Month Ahead and a look back

I don't know about you, but the clock change has really thrown me this year. I am not a fan of the darker days drawing in, although crisp winter mornings with a cobalt blue sky and a cloud of breath makes me happy!
Thanks to those of you who made it to the West Bristol Art Trail back in October. The venue I was in was brilliant , with lots of footfall and customer engagement. I was exhibiting with a great bunch of artists and spent a merry weekend chatting to new and old customers, and sharing my creative practice.
Since then I have been working with SEND schools for the Royal West of England Art Gallery, on their Happy Mondays project, as well as delivering their Happy Families support workshops for school-age students with SEND needs.
The creative sessions in the care homes also continue, with the joy of celebrating harvest the theme for our last workshop, where they printed using fruit and vegetables to make bookmarks, cards and posters.
Last week, I installed an exhibition as part of a group show in North Street Gallery, on North Street in Bristol. I shall be part of this community space from now until the end of January! Work is available to buy in the browsers, and framed from the wall. I will be updating my display monthly, so there should be plenty to pique your interest! There will be a Meet the Artist event on Saturday 6th December, so do come along for festive nibbles and gift buying direct from the artists.
My next event is super soon!!! Over the weekend of 10th - 12th November (i.e. this weekend!), I will be exhibiting in East Harptree village hall as part of the Big Arts weekend. I am unsure if I can attend the private view, however, should you like to go, please drop me a line at amy-aardvark@hotmail.co.uk as soon as possible, so that I can get your name added to the VIP invite list. There will be wine and nibbles, and the first opportunity to purchase new work from the exhibiting artists. Alternatively, you can visit over Saturday and Sunday between 10am - 4.30pm. I will be there from around 11am both days with new work for you to brighten your walls.
If the Chew Valley is a little further than you'd like to travel, I will be a market trader in Corn Street (very near St Nicks entrance!) on Thursday 18th December. This will be the last opportunity to buy from before the new year, so do pop by and say hell-o-ho-ho if you can!
Looking forwards, I'm excited to share that I have been commissioned to create a globe, which will be displayed in Bristol Cathedral in 2026! The World Reimagined have commissioned me to produce one globe as part of their new 'Triangle of Unity' project. The globe will be delivered to my studio shortly, and then an intense month of making will commence! In the early new year, ten globes will be on display in the Cathedral, recognising our shared history since the transatlantic trade of enslaved Africans, considering the history, legacy and future. As part of the project, two Bristol schools will be creating their own globes exploring the themes, and their work will be joined by 5 artist globes.
Well, as always, I have to dash away! I hope that this finds you enjoying wearing extra layers (one of my favourite parts of autumn is layering colours and different fabrics!). May autumn be kind and colourful, and the start of Winter bring cosy moments of joy.
Hope to see you around,
Love and warm cuddles,
Amy
