A quick message to let you know that I have uploaded some of my new prints onto my online emporium!
Here are three prints - two explore summer vibes and the promise of adventure, the third captures a nostalgic air as we look down Park Street, towards the now closed Guild and the soon to be demolished Vincenzo's.
Each of these prints is created from my initial hand drawn images, and translated onto a screen using a photographic process from my handdrawn films (which act as negatives). The prints are produced via handprinting with serigraphy - the mechanised version of this technique is called silkscreen print. Each colour involves a different screen. Colour is layered one at a time, with careful registration by eye, to ensure all the colours line up correctly to make the image. The more colours, the more room for error and the more expensive the prints become. This ensures that each one is ever so slightly different to the next, making each unique. I am passionate about printing in traditional ways and love being physically connected to my work.
Do have a look and let me know what you think!?
