Hey hey!!! How is this sunshine making you feel? Oh-my-goodness! I am so relieved that it has arrived, and what's more, the beautiful ball of fire in the sky has prompted lots of fresh leaves to shoot and unfurl, and flowers to peek from the ground! I am so happy.
My residency in East Harptree is going well. I have been stomping around the locality, enjoying space in the studio and have had new ideas popping up - not unlike the blossoms in the garden. This weekend on Sunday 27th April from 10am - 1pm we will be hosting a meet the artist event in the Village Hall, East Harptree. I'm looking forward to delivering a workshop and talking with new friends!
I have created a new print, inspired by my residency. It's called "April" and will be available to buy the following weekend, at the May Open in Spike Print Studio over the May bank holiday weekend. The anual Spike Open will see lots of artists throwing open their studio doors, and Spike Print studio (which is upstairs along the corridor) will be showcasing our beautiful print space and many pieces by it's current members.
On Saturday 3rd May I will be found at the Underfall Yard market once more! This will be the first market for me this year, and is also the monthly start up for the Underfall. Please do pop by and find me at the yard between 10am and 5pm-ish. You could always swing by Spike Print and then come along to find me, or vice versa. On my stand I will be showcasing some new prints, a few paintings and smaller items, such as magnets, cards and more. It would be brilliant to see you if you can make it. If not, I will be found at the Underfall Yard market the following month, and the one after, and the one after that. . . :)
And lastly, I have just joined the Printmakers Council, a membership organisation based in London, who represent and promote contemporary printmakers and promote the art of printmaking. I'm very excited to be part of this organisation and hope to exhibit with them this coming year.
Well, I must get on! I have an event to prepare for on Sunday, and I need to prep for next week, when I will be working across four care homes, facilitating printmaking using watercolours and celebrating Spring!
Sending much love and Springtime kisses,
Amy x
