Hello and happy Monday! Here is my latest update, to keep you in the loop about what I've been up to, and to share with you where you'll find me next!
MAY:
In the last month, I have had huge fun with the BIGGEST SCREEN I HAVE EVER PRINTED!!! When I was selected as Artist in Residence at Artshub East Harptree, one of my aims was to work larger, making the most of the enormous studio space over the year. Last week, I had the first opportunity to translate my recent artwork onto the largest screen I've ever used, taking some of my original monotype images, enlarging them and exposing them. I couldn't even see over the screen without standing on tip toes! I have been a printmaker since I was 12 years old, so learning to work on this scale was a brilliant learning experience, and something that I absolutely need to do again!

In other news, this month I have been facilitating creative workshop to many different groups. I have delivered sessions at 4 care homes, spray paint and stencil with a pupil refferal unit, taught refugees at Spike Print Studio, and supported SEND school students for the RWA. This month has found me sharing printing skills, teaching graffiti and textile techniques, all of which I've loved!
GREENHOUSE INFATUATION:
For those who are interested in all things greenhousey, I have been working on a new, experimental body of prints, creating one-off monotypes, some of which incorporate spray paint as well as multiple layers of colour and textures. Some of these will be available to purchase at the Underfall Yard market, which will be held on 7th June. This body of work is a commentary on the environment and how nature reclaims.
JUNE - UNDERFALL YARD MARKET:
I will be returning to the Underfall Yard Market, on the Bristol Harbour, on Saturday 7th June, 10 - 5pm. You will find me an a wonderful selection of artists and makers on the harbourside, very near the Cottage Pub and the Underfall cafe. I will be bringing along a selection of new prints, including some of the greenhouse pieces that I have been working on recently.
There will also be a discount on a few of my favourite prints to celebrate my birthday month! These prices will be exclusively available for those who can come along in person to the market, and via a discount code on my website: www.amyhutchings.co.uk
Check out my website from 3rd June to find out which prints are included in this birthday month sale! The discount code to enter in the discount box is: JUNEJOY25
Please come and find me early June in person!
UPFEST WESTON WALLS:
I will be working as an artist facilitator during Weston Walls over the weekend of 26th and 27th July. This amazing, annual mural event will find me near the Sovreign Centre, delivering lego printing over the course of the weekend. The workshops are free to book in advance, with a few walk-up tickets available on the day. Check out the Upfest site shortly for timings and tickets!
That's all for now!
Big love,
Amy xxx
