Sketch Up Friday and Other Workshops
Sketch Up Fridays at Ashton Court Mansion
Short Films of the interior can now be found on our YouTube channel: Sketch Up Friday
First film is available here! Dame Emily's Bedroom
Running at Ashton Court mansion since January 2019, these sessions offer the opportunity for members of the public to access an otherwise inaccessible building. Over 75% of the property is derelict, with public access previously restricted to certain areas of the ground floor. Via Sketch Up Fridays we are able to offer first-hand opportunities to draw on the ground and first floor of the property. Due to condition (particularly upstairs) there is a limit to the number of spaces available per week.
Sign up is via eventbrite. However, during Lockdown, we are enabling remote access through photographs of the property. It's not ideal, but hopefully offers a small insight into what it is like and provides the chance to draw the interior. Check out news and views for uploaded images and recent sketch sessions.
Workshops
Amy has taught in a variety of settings; a pupil referral unit, adult education college, primary and secondary schools (including teaching the teachers!) and sixth form college. She also runs her own private workshops.
Depending on the available facilities, Amy can teach paper stencilling, silk screen printing, textile printing, monoprint, collographs and textile techniques, including but not restricted to: embroidery, applique, cushion making and upcycling of garments and accessories.
