A Bridge for Upfest

This weekend I should have been painting my first mural as part of @upfest , the street art festival. Sadly, it has had to be postponed, but I thought I'd share with you my design for the event. As a Bristol festival, it seemed fitting to run with a well-known landmark. A cycle ride along the Portway revealed this dramatic angle to me. The size of my pitch was taller rather than long and I felt this would be perfect! The bridge was to be paired with vibrant, happy colours, lots of line drawing and pattern 😁 Sending love, sunshine and the wish that we can meet soon x

Sketching Hidden Corners

The final week of this block of Sketch Up Friday is upon us! The next block commences on Friday 12th June. Fingers crossed we may be able to access the building by that stage and draw in a socially distanced manner. However, for now, we are going to have a wander around a space that you would be unable to access, even if physically onsite. I know that I promised an upstairs room, but thought this one might be of interest? The Old Refectory is usually closed to the public. One of the oldest surviving spaces in the mansion, it boasts an incredible, three-bay, arch-braced collar beam roof with three tiers of (restored) windbracing and a carved, wooden entranceway.
